Project: Carrie (Part 1)

Hey fellow readers! (or random peeps who want to read something worthwhile… you may or may not find that here… but I’ll leave that up to your brains to process…)

I have structured this blog post as a part 1. You may be wondering why (or not care either way) so here’s my explanation.

Since my first year at OCAD is coming to a close and summer is fast approaching, I was thinking of creating a fun project to complete by the start of second year. Yes, this may seem like a lofty goal/ambition, but I assure you that it will be worth reading in many blog posts.

So, for this post, I’ll explain the project in detail.

The Goal: Create a compelling graphic for the novel Carrie by Stephen King.

Carrie by Stephen King

You may now be wondering why this novel. Why not something more cheerful/happy? Why this horror fiction? Well, this past Tuesday, I saw the movie Evil Dead (probably the grossest/most-horrific/scariest I have seen so far!) and saw a trailer for the remake of Carrie, based on the novel. Since the trailer was so compelling, I now have the urge to read the novel.

And THAT is how I got the idea!

Here’s the trailer for the movie, which is coming out October 2013:

I’ll let you guys know how the novel is and my upcoming ideas for the graphic.

More parts to come 🙂
