Peacock Feathers

Hey everyone! Nicky here 🙂

I am pleased to say that my digital painting skills are starting to improve. From watching endless amounts of tutorials and figuring out the buttons on my tablet (Finally) I think I’m getting the hang of it 🙂

Check out my peacock that I drew recently:

Also, I submitted my peacock to Threadless, an online site for t-shirt designs, and is now in the process of voting. If I get enough votes, Threadless will fund it so people can purchase it!

Im-Ur-Dream-Guy

Hey everyone! Nicky here 🙂

Let me present my new kinetic type piece: Im-Ur-Dream-Guy. Inspired by the many comments that men send women on Tinder, I decided to create a monologue of a woman’s “dream guy”, describing why he would be the perfect one for you.

Please like and share 🙂

Hope – My First Animation

Hello y’all 🙂

So this past week has been pretty busy (what else is new) because my summer courses started last week… and I already have an assignment finished… OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The assignment is called THE HERO’S JOURNEY

CREATIVE BRIEF

Provide 12—15 storyboards which visualize the short story you’ve crafted. This can be the story you started in class or a completely new tale.

You may use the provided storyboard template to sketch out your narrative. Below each frame you can choose to include a description of the physical environment (set design/location, time of day, interior [IN:] exterior [EXT:]), an/or description of the spatial quality of the frame (staging, camera angle and any other element from your shotlist).

PRESENTATION
Storyboards will be submitted in digital format for review on 21.

TO CONSIDER

• Progression. Where does the story begin? Where does it end? What creates the most drama? Does your protagonist journey from Orphan–Wanderer–Warrior–Martyr?

• Use your senses. How do you convey the ambiance or mood one would experience while exploring this place?

• Do not be afraid to experiment – use humour, surprise, be spontaneous, embrace chaos.

• Keep it simple.

With this brief, I began the storyboarding process:

Basically, I planned out what each clip would look like and how the story will progress.

After, it was time to create the characters and animate them:

Now, finally, here’s the final animation:

I can’t wait to see what the next assignment will be 🙂
