I am pleased to say that my digital painting skills are starting to improve. From watching endless amounts of tutorials and figuring out the buttons on my tablet (Finally) I think I’m getting the hang of it 🙂
Check out my peacock that I drew recently:
Also, I submitted my peacock to Threadless, an online site for t-shirt designs, and is now in the process of voting. If I get enough votes, Threadless will fund it so people can purchase it!
This past semester, I made a pretty “edgy” video for my expressive typography class.
In the video, I explore the meaning of Feminism for me as a woman in my world. I have always had an insecurity with my body, which started probably the beginning of 7th grade. I have small breasts, bigger hips, a wider waist, a bump in my nose, which made me feel extremely unattractive. The perfect image of what a woman should look like has always haunted my mind, to the point of these thoughts becoming obsessive. This made my self-esteem decrease.
Now, after reflecting on who I am and how people actually perceive me, I see now that I am beautiful because I am my own person. This video is a reflection of my journey to finding my inner woman.
I am a big fan of Maroon 5. I remember getting their first album on my 10th birthday and haven’t stopped listening to their music since. However, I haven’t been a tremendous fan of their music videos. That is until I watched their music video for Love Somebody:
The overall concept really sets the tone of the song and the visual effects used for the video are spot on. After doing some more research, I was able to find some information on how the video was produced. They had each person dress in white clothing and stand in front of a white background while being covered in blue paint.
Based on the making of the video, I figured that they isolated the paint using After Effects by keying out the color that there’s a hole in the footage. Then duplicate the layer and use it as an inverted track matte on the original footage, so the paint is left in the footage.
I would like to try and achieve a similar effect as an experiment. Although… getting someone willing to be covered in paint and not make a huge mess… we will have to see! 🙂
For almost 2 months now, I have been working as a Contributor for TasteToronto, an online food publication about the various food spots in the Toronto area. While I was looking through the website, I noticed a link to apply for a job position and decided to send them my resume. Sure enough, they contacted me and offered me an internship.
I have written a few articles now that have been posted on the website! Check them out here:
Check it out fellow readers something is different about my blog 🙂 With the help of my best friend Moe, who gave me advice on the choice of font and spacing of the text, I have created a new header! … Continue reading →

Anyways, before I lose my mind, and readers for that matter, I’ll give a brief explanation of where the link will take you.
I mentioned in a previous post about one of my best friends from school, Moe. Along with his incredible talent of drawing and design, he also has a knack at video editing and production.
I will say no more and let you experience it for yourselves.
During my lunch break at work yesterday while I was munching on the salad I had brought, I thought about my blog. If you hadn’t noticed already, my followers have gone up in number and more people are reading my posts (just from looking at my site stats and the likes on each post).
I have been debating for a while if I should change up the look of my blog, personalize the header a little more (maybe add some pics of me).
So, here are the fonts I’m thinking of using if I do change my header:
Comment on which one you prefer PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!
I while ago, I blogged about a project I had to complete for my Communication Design class: making animals and letters interact with one another. I had made four of the letters previously and had to finish the alphabet.
My original plan was to make this into a small book, but I wanted to see what it would look like as a poster. It turns out I like the poster better because of how colourful it is.
I am very proud of myself for finishing this in time for the deadline. Now, I have a 24″ by 36″ poster.
